There is no escape — Rui's micro-trap paper is accepted in Small

Just in time for Halloween: Rui Zeng's paper, Programmable Colloidal µ-Traps for 3D Kinematic Fingerprinting of Active Bacteria, has been accepted in Small! In collaboration with the Sacanna lab, Rui built volume-tunable hollow microparticles — programmable µ-traps — that confine single swimming bacteria in well-defined 3D microenvironments. The trap's aperture acts as a kinematic filter, gating which cells can enter or escape, and reveals species-specific "kinematic fingerprints" from label-free 3D imaging alone. Congratulations, Rui, and to our collaborators in the Sacanna lab!
