Sujata and Soren's preprint on a single-dye microenvironment sensor

Congratulations to Sujata Bais and Soren Westrey on the preprint of their latest work! They show that a single near-infrared cyanine dye, CyC4, can report on both the chemical (polarity, hydrogen bonding) and physical (crowding) properties of its microenvironment through two independent equilibria, a general strategy for multiparametric sensing inside crowded spaces like biomolecular condensates.
